Pathways is a special place within Croatan Village, uniquely designed to meet the needs of our residents with Alzheimer’s and other forms of memory impairment. For those with memory impairment whether early-onset or developed, residents of Pathways enjoy all the amenities of home, with the added benefits of reassurance, comfort and security.
Pathways open floor plan design and intimate setting offers each resident a secured environment to maximize their potential in a home-like environment. The residence includes the largest secured outdoor courtyard for residents with memory impairments in the area. The courtyard includes walking Pathways, raised gardens, a covered porch and a beautiful fountain for relaxation.
Pathways celebrates the spirit within each resident through personalized activities that encourage creativity and self-expression. We work with each resident individually, striving for small successes each day that help to create a sense of accomplishment. A full time Activity Director coordinates a full schedule of meaningful activities for the residents.

- Encouraging families to learn and become part of the community, add to the program, and discover more meaningful visits

- Providing peace of mind to families knowing their loved one is in a safe and secure setting
Residents in Pathways receive 24-hour resident care services under the direction of our Healthcare Coordinator, a registered nurse. In addition each resident receives three balance meals and snacks per day, daily housekeeping and laundry services all within a safe and secured environment.
We also offer in-house medical services through East Coast On-Site Medical Care and on site foot care services through On-Sight Senior Care. These services alleviate the need to transport residents to routine doctor visits since they can be performed in-house. These services are particularly beneficial to residents suffering from Alzheimer’s and other memory impairments as it minimizes long days at the doctor’s office.
